Message from the Vice President for Student Affairs and Administration
Dear Hilltoppers,
Whether you are new to our community or returning, welcome home to the Hilltop! We are excited to be your "home away from home!” Each of us has a role to play in ensuring a compassionate, respectful and vibrant community where we care deeply for one another. We are eager to support you in setting personal well-being goals, as well as academic and career goals, dreaming big and achieving success, as defined by YOU!
This year will bring new opportunities and invitations to challenge yourself to reach beyond your comfort zone in an effort to learn new things, meet new people and expand your worldview. We invite you to help us build community and participate in meaningful conversations where we respect the dignity and worth of each person, and stress the obligation to pursue a more just world. As you learn more about the mission of St. Edward's, informed by the Congregation of Holy Cross, we hope that you will appreciate the commitment to social justice and responsibility to the community.
There are so many ways to get involved on campus and in the greater Austin area to help you prepare for life beyond the Hilltop! As a student at St. Edward's, you can develop mentoring relationships with your faculty, staff, and also our alumni. Academic excellence is a priority and we have a broad network on and off the Hilltop for you to tap into. It all starts by getting involved in campus life, serving and leading in our communities, and participating in experiences like internships, undergraduate research, study abroad, and student employment and leadership.
St. Edward’s is dedicated to creating and sustaining Hilltopper wellbeing and pride that reinforces a sense of belonging and identity within our vibrant campus community. If you haven’t yet, make time for yourself to learn more about #LiveWellSEU and the and some of our Hilltopper traditions, including SEU Athletics that make campus life so much fun. These programs and events are designed to help you get connected, develop a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, meaningful relationships, leadership capacity, and a positive attitude.
Stop by my office, Main Building 109, or email me at Lisak@stedwards.edu to schedule time to connect! I want to know your story, support you on your journey, and welcome your feedback as well!
Warmly,
Dr. K
