, funding levels for the VA ’24-’25 academic year:

When the Post 9/11 GI Bill® beneficiary exhausts all $28937.09 in Post 9/11 GI Bill® funding, the VA will provide up to an additional $10,000 for tuition and fees charges occurring during the same VA academic year. Each VA Yellow Ribbon funding dollar received by St. Edward’s will be matched by St. Edward’s Yellow Ribbon funding. This can provide the eligible student up to an additional $20,000 in combined VA/St. Edward’s matched Yellow Ribbon funding for tuition and fee charges during the VA ’24-’24 academic year.

Total ’24-’25 Post-9/11 GI Bill® tuition/fees funding at 100% eligibility with all possible Yellow Ribbon: $48,937.09

: The student is paid a stipend based upon their certified rate of pursuit.

St. Edward’s full-time undergraduate rate of pursuit is defined as 12 credit hours, and graduate is 9 credit hours. We certify all credit hours meeting degree requirements to the VA.

: All tuition and fees are paid for courses meeting degree requirements, per the student’s CH.31 degree program agreement provided by VA VR&E to St. Edward’s

St. Ed’s verifies your program eligibility when your VR&E counselor provides us with an education “purchase order”. Please contact us and share the name and VA email address of your VR&E counselor. We’ll coordinate from there.

We invoice VR&E for the tuition and fees per any semester the student requests to be certified.

The student’s purchase order will detail the degree program the VA wishes to pay for. If the Ch.31 VR&E student is taking courses outside of the VA approved degree plan, we will reach out to the student’s VR&E counselor to understand if they will provide funding for such coursework.

St. Ed’s bookstore, a third-party contract with Barnes and Noble, invoices separately for Ch. 31 students. We inform the student’s VR&E counselor to send a separate purchase order to the St. Ed’s bookstore.

Institution's Policy on Return of Unearned TA Funds to the Government

Return of Tuition Assistance: Military Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption the student will attend the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded.  St. Edward's University will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned founds returned based upon when a student stops attending.
